Operation and infrastructure Division

The Operations and infrastructure division is responsible for construction, infrastructure development, operations, energy and general maintenance.

The Division considers its mission to ensure the improvement and upgrading of the Institute's facilities and systems, and to ensure appropriate research conditions in a dynamic and changing technological environment, according to specific research needs.

The Division is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of physical infrastructures, electromechanical systems, electrical systems, computer systems and plumbing. To perform this role, a central online service center operates, providing a professional solution to malfunctions in all areas of​ operation and maintenance. ​The Division’s employees work tirelessly to ensure a pleasant, reliable and safe working environment to each employee.

The main functions of the Division are:

  • Strategic planning of infrastructure development and improvement in accordance with the research and development needs and the policies issued by the Institute's management.

  • Management and supervision of projects and their implementation, from the initial stages, through the planning and execution stages to the delivery.

  • Preparation of technical specifications for the execution of tenders and contracts for execution of field activities.

  • Providing technical-engineering support to the research areas.

  • Management of the institute’s energy consumption.

The following are examples of engineering projects for R&​D and for improvement of energy efficiency of the Institute's facilities, led by the Operations and infrastructure division in accordance with the purposes of IIBR’s researchers.​​​

The mission of the Institute for Biological Research is to provide innovative, advanced and groundbreaking research and development to preserve the security of the State of Israel. The support unit leads engineering projects in support of the scientific work being done at the Institute, tailored to the needs of specific research.

Improving Energy consumption efficiency at IIBR

Upgrading and construction of buildings and infrastructure
